Our name comes from the Mayan word caban, meaning “Earth”, which represents the vital force shared between the natural world and humans. We draw inspiration from this concept to create a clean energy storage system that keeps critical infrastructure powered around the clock while simultaneously ensuring the sustainability of our future.
Caban was founded in 2018 by two engineers with a shared passion for solving how to decarbonize the most fossil fuel-dependent industries. With over 30 years of combined experience designing and manufacturing energy storage systems for mobile and stationary applications, the pair set their ambition initially on building an alternative energy solution for the telecommunications industry in the Americas.
After several years of company growth and demonstrated success supplying energy for some of the world’s largest telecom operators, Caban has expanded to support clean energy needs across critical infrastructure sectors globally.
Caban’s leadership team represents over 200 years of combined experience across global energy and power, manufacturing, telecommunications, and cloud-based information technology sectors. This depth of expertise and breadth of background supporting projects on all five continents are key differentiators that contribute to Caban’s continued success.
As we grow, we are actively seeking top talent across a range of functions. Caban offers a dynamic, collaborative environment for ambitious professionals who are passionate about making a positive impact on the planet.
Caban is backed by a number of leading private equity firms, infrastructure funds, and venture capital organizations that are uniquely committed to investing in innovative, women-led, climate-forward infrastructure solutions. Caban’s investors bring a wealth of experience and inspiration to our mission to decarbonize critical infrastructure across the globe.
